Current Genetics and Long Term Breeding Direction

From 2007 onwards there has been an emphasis on sourcing genetics from studs that have ceased mulesing. We believe that a genetic approach will be the most successful long term solution. This is an issue that will not go away. This is also breeding an easier shearing sheep which is in our eyes one of the major problems facing the Merino industry.
Genetics have come from:
Selecting for the plainer type, yet productive wooled sheep has also increased the body length and meat characteristics of our sheep by using these bloodlines. This has been an enormous benefit, provided it is combined and validated with objective measurement. Our 2016 drop rams reflect this and look fantastic.
